The sorbitol tolerance test (STT) was performed, in 69 cases of various hepatic diseases to observe the relationship of STT-with cha ges in the serum - proteins, and following results we e ob ained.
1. The STT showed abnormaliti-s,in ost-of the cases, although a significant co, relation between STT and the total protein,, albu in and globulin levels was not observed. The deer ase of the, serum , albumin level, however, appeared somewhat correl
ated with STT abnormalities, co pared with the changes, of total serum protein a d serum globulin levels.
2. Of various liver diseases, , h patit_s showed a most marked abnormality in S T even though changes in serum protein weren n t observed.
The liver cirrhosis with reversed A/ ratio and ¢¥hepatoma with slightly derranged serura protein, showed little abnormalities of STT.
3. Twenty-four v xf biopsy, rrevealed cases - of live.
